Background:  Art grew up in the Sandpoint area and developed an early and lifelong interest in outdoor activities.  He spent the majority of his career with the US Forest Service, working in timber management, reforestation, silviculture, and fire.  Art retired from the Forest Service in 1999 after working for five national forests including the Bonners Ferry (18 years) and Sandpoint (3 years) Ranger Districts.  His career with the USFS involved many positions including District Ranger and Administrative Officer.   He has worked part time for IFM since 2004 as a Program Manager for County Fire Safe Programs.
