Education: BS Forestry (Forest Products), University of Idaho 1974 Forest Engineering Institute (Advanced Logging Systems) Oregon State University 1980 Continuing Education in Forest Ecology and Science (CEFES) program at the University of Montana, Washington State University and the University of Idaho 1991 Background: Don is native of North Idaho. He was born and raised on a small farm in the Sandpoint area. During summers, while attending the University of Idaho, he worked on an Interregional Fire crew for the USFS traveling the western US. After graduation he worked as a timber company forester and later returned to the USFS for a career. His work for the US Forest Service involved timber sale prep and administration, logging systems design, planning and operations staff as a certified silviculturist, acting District Ranger, and fire control for over 35 seasons including Incident Commander on a North Idaho Fire Management Team. Since joining Inland Forest Management, Don has worked on conservation easements and management of the Wildland Urban Interface Fire Mitigation program for Boundary and Kootenai Counties.
