Hazardous Fuels Programs
Inland Forest Management, Inc. provides coordination and supervision for numerous Wildland Urban Interface Fire Mitigation Programs including Boundary, Kootenai, Bonner and Benewah Counties, Idaho.
These programs are designed to help private property owners reduce the risk to life and property from the threat of wildfire by creating shaded fuel breaks near homes and businesses. Shaded fuel breaks involve work such as the thinning of small trees, cutting brush and pruning. These improvements are generally completed at no cost to the landowner.
These programs are part of the National Fire Plan legislation and utilizes federal grant money to complete the projects.
