Karen Robinson

Education: B.S. Wildlife Biology/Botany, University of Montana, 1978

Background:  Before coming to IFM, Karen worked for numerous government agencies (Idaho Department of Lands, Idaho Department of Fish and Game, Idaho Panhandle National Forest, Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation) leading to a broad range of work experience including grizzly bear and caribou habitat mapping, forest inventory, reforestation, fire suppression and park ranger.  She also developed a Wildlife Procedures Manual for the Idaho Department of Lands under the direction of an interagency wildlife committee.

For the past 15 years, she has worked primarily in private forestry, writing over 400 Forest Stewardship and other resource management plans.  She has also served as the coordinator for the Idaho State Forestry Contest since 2003.

Karen joined IFM in 2004 as administrative assistant for the Boundary County Fire Safe and Bonner County Bonfire Programs.  She continues to write management plans for IFM clients, while pursuing a second career painting watercolors and creating whimsical trolls (using forest lichens).
