Spring 2014

Log prices have softened slightly over the last few months due to high log inventories at most area sawmills, which is a result of excellent logging weather this winter. On the brighter side, there is increasing interest in ponderosa pine due to higher lumber values, although prices have not changed significantly. It is likely log prices will remain fairly constant until mills begin to build inventories following spring break-up, at which time it is hoped prices will trend upward.
