Most sawmill log yards are very full as we enter spring break-up weather conditions. This has resulted in lukewarm interest from most mills in purchasing additional logs, and a few sawmills have curtailed entering into new log-purchase contracts. Where prices go following spring break-up will depend on lumber markets and how depleted log yards are when favorable logging weather returns. Considering all factors, it is anticipated that prices will trend upward, but very modestly.
