Spring 2019

The Inland Northwest log market is fairly fluid with numerous mills recently curtailing log purchases due to high inventories, while other companies continue to buy logs at modest prices.  Underpinning the weak log market is a lumber market in the doldrums, with prices generally running about 30% lower than the same time last year. Looking down the road, it is anticipated that prices will tick upward coming out of spring break-up, but it is unlikely the market will be as strong as 2018.
