Spring 2020

It is a very interesting time in the log market.  Many sawmills are not purchasing logs at the present time and there is not a viable ponderosa pine market.  Some pulp purchasers are also off the market. An abundance of logs in mill yards and the uncertainty related to the Coronavirus impact on the economy have buyers being conservative. Please note that the above log prices can be somewhat misleading because only a few outlier mills are in that price range and other mills are either paying less or not purchasing logs.  On the brighter side, numerous mills anticipate coming back on line and log purchasers have indicated optimism for a better market. However, it appears ponderosa pine logs will continue to have marginal value.
