We are excited to announce the hiring of Garrett Kleiner as the new manager for Inland Forest Management. Garrett comes to IFM with a wealth of consulting forestry experience in the northwest, a forest engineering degree from Oregon State University and a background in managing a consulting forestry office. When applying for the position, Garrett stated “I have always wanted to base my career in Idaho and in the Inland Northwest.” Mike Wolcott, current IFM manager, stated “We are thrilled to have Garett on board. He will continue our office’s commitment to high-quality client service, while guiding IFM toward expanded opportunities and improved technology. “
Mike Wolcott will remain with IFM, an F&W Forestry Services company, for the foreseeable future as a mentor and assistant to Garrett.
Garrett comes from a distinguished consulting forestry background. His grandfather started a consulting forestry business in 1949 that his family still runs in Northern California. Garrett was raised in the forestry world, and as he says, “Consulting forestry and client relationships are in my blood.”
In 2015, Garrett began a career with Stuntzer Engineering and Forestry, a premier consulting company based in Oregon. He managed their Coos Bay, OR office providing services to a diverse client base including private landowners and municipalities. He has deep experience in many tasks including stakeholder coordination, project administration, timber sales preparation and implementation, road development, timber cruising and appraisal to name a few.
When not involved with these duties, Garrett has dedicated time to the Farm Bureau, Oregon Small Woodlands Association, Association of Consulting Foresters, American Tree Farm System and the Oregon Logging Conference. He has served in leadership roles for all these organizations. In addition, he is a California Registered Professional Forester, a credential not easily obtained.
Garrett and his wife, Jennifer, have two daughters – Emma, 3 years old and Makenna, 5 years old.
